The Trouble With Boys

March 16, 2007

IN this inventive psycho-sociological art-street mixup, Michael Porters graffiti mural bigmouths are the most immediately recognisable things, though the subject matter of the other three artists is also familiar.

Chong Weng Ho's deft notebook drawings capture prominent members of the lattedrinking cultural androcracy in moments of casual inattention at professional and social occasions, while Konrad Winkler's photographs document their opposites: the craggy, unshaven, and still not yet rich and famous middleaged creatives who stubbornly refuse to give up.

James Drew's video is brief, inane, hilarious, stupid and scary: a testosterone travelogue of best mates' dares, browneyes and headlocks.
