PRESS RELEASE
ACCLAIM magazine and OBEY Clothing in association with Semi-Permanent and Until Never are proud to present ENDLESS BUMMER: The Art of Barf, the recent works of American artist/illustrator, James Callahan.
With a grotesquely awesome aesthetic that mixes together a strangely palatable elixir of early 90’s skate graphics, Tales From the Crypt comics and a dash of death metal (as well as sharks, lots of sharks), it’s no surprise James also runs with the apt moniker of Barf.
Barf’s work has been featured in Beautiful Decay and on various graphics for streetwear labels such as OBEY Clothing as well as in the Virginian grass-roots skate mag ‘Born Ugly’ of which he is the art director.
When he’s not creating the kinds of comics your parents would of never let you read, he’s at the helm of up-start deck company, Nowhere Skateboards.
Skater, sicko, entrepeneur, call him what you like, we’re stoked to be bringing his brand of macabre graphic magic to Melbourne as an official Melbourne Semi-Permanent side event.
