Before opening the doors of Until Never to the public, I invited Ishmael, Phibs and Nuroc to christen the room; Ishamel first stripping sections back to uncover decades-old layers of paint, followed by buffing & rollering the walls.
Phibs and Nuroc then sprayed signature works in shades of bone, ivory and charcoal over a period of weeks, building up layers, sometimes buffing works completely and painting over the top again.
The finished work was integral to the first Salon exhibition in the gallery - reflecting strong tribal influences of many of the artists - and would continue to be a subtle backdrop to the first few exhibitions before being modified and added to by artists such as Kill Pixie and HaHa.
